This is an atmosphere-controlled melt spinning furnace for preparing amorphous metallic ribbons. In this technique, metal ingots are melted via induction heating method and then propelled by overpressurizing the crucible. A thin stream of molten is dropped onto a fast-spinning copper wheel, which can rapidly quench & solidify the molten, and consequently form the liquid metal alloy.
1.Stainless steel high vacuum chamber with front observation window;
2. The unit provides inlet and outlet valves for inert gas purging. This helps to protect samples from moisture or oxygen exposure during the melt spinning process;
3. User can also control the RPM of the drum, induction heating power, temperature and pressure applied to the crucible;
4. This is an ideal experimental equipment for the research and preparation of the melt-spinning process and amorphous metal in university research institutes..

Application: Use melt spinning furnace to get 10mm width Ni-Ti alloy strip
(1)Equipment preparation
High vacuum melt spinning furnace:
Ensure that the equipment is in good condition, check the spinning system, vacuum pump and cooling device.
Auxiliary equipment:
Prepare temperature control system, pressure monitor, cooling water circulation system and sample collection device.
(2)Material preparation
Raw materials:
Select nickel (Ni) and titanium (Ti) raw materials and ensure purity ≥99.5%.
Weigh the required nickel and titanium according to the alloy ratio, such as Ni:Ti = 50:50.
Crucible selection:
Use a high-temperature corrosion-resistant crucible (such as graphite) for melting.
(3) Operation process
Charging:
Put the weighed nickel and titanium into the crucible to ensure uniform mixing.
Close the chamber:
Put the crucible into the furnace and ensure that the furnace door is well sealed.
Evacuate:
Start the vacuum pump and reduce the pressure in the chamber to 10-5mbar to prevent oxidation and impurities from mixing.
Heating process:
Set the heating temperature to 1450°C, start the induction heating system, and ensure that the temperature rises steadily.
Monitor the melt state to ensure uniform melting.
Spinning process:
When the melt is completely melted, start the spinning system to quickly spin the melt out to form a thin strip.
Adjust the spinning speed and cooling water flow to control the thickness and width of the strip to ensure that the final width reaches 10mm.
Cooling and collection:
Let the formed nickel-titanium alloy strip cool quickly in the cooling water flow to prevent deformation.
Collect the cooled alloy strip and perform an appearance inspection.
Post-processing:
Perform heat treatment (such as annealing) as needed to improve the mechanical properties of the alloy.
Perform necessary mechanical processing to achieve the final size requirements.
(4)Precautions
Ensure that personnel wear appropriate protective equipment during operation.
Check the equipment status regularly to ensure safety and stability.
Monitor the melt temperature and swinging strip thickness to ensure product quality
