CY 1200 degree atmosphere furnace is an advanced heat treatment equipment, mainly used in the experiment and production process of high temperature heat treatment of materials, metal smelting, ceramic sintering, powder metallurgy and other fields. Application Case: Sintering Alumina Ceramics in a Vacuum Atmosphere Furnace at 1200°C

 

Alumina ceramics are widely used in electronics, aerospace, and medical fields due to their excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance. In order to improve the density and performance of alumina ceramics, sintering at 1200°C using vacuum atmosphere sintering technology is an effective method.

Equipment Overview:

Using a 1200°C vacuum atmosphere furnace, it has the following features:

High temperature range: It can operate stably up to 1200°C.

Vacuum environment: It provides a controllable low-pressure environment to prevent oxidation and the introduction of impurities.

Atmosphere control: The atmosphere composition can be adjusted according to demand to ensure the chemical stability of the material during the sintering process.

Material preparation:

Raw materials: High-purity alumina powder (such as AlO).

Additives: Appropriate amount of sintering aids (such as MgO or SiO) to improve sintering performance.

Sintering process:

Powder mixing: The alumina powder and sintering aid are evenly mixed in proportion and ball milled.

Molding: The mixed powder is pressed or injection molded to form the required green body.

Drying: Dry at room temperature to remove moisture.

Vacuum sintering: Put the green body into a vacuum atmosphere furnace and evacuate to the required pressure.

Gradually increase the temperature to 1200°C and keep it for a certain time to promote sintering.

Cool to room temperature and keep the vacuum state.

Results and analysis:

Density test: The density of the sintered alumina ceramics is significantly improved, reaching more than 98%.

Microstructure: Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation shows that the ceramic surface is smooth and the grains are uniform.

Mechanical properties: Bending strength and hardness tests were performed, and the results showed that the performance is better than that of conventional sintered alumina.

Application:

Sintered alumina ceramics are widely used in:

Electronic components: as insulating materials and substrates.

Medical devices: used for biocompatible devices.

Mechanical parts: parts used in high temperature and high wear environments.

Conclusion:
